Drone Swarm Test Engineer (m/w/d)

Your mission
  • Plan and execute UAV and drone swarm flight tests, including demos abroad (e.g., Ukraine)
  • Lead and coordinate field operations, including pilots, engineers, and support crews
  • Develop and maintain all operational documentation (procedures, checklists, risk assessments)
  • Work directly with regulatory bodies (e.g., EASA), handle approvals and integrate compliance feedback
  • Define and set up new flight test sites and facilities
  • Own risk management, flight safety, and emergency procedures
  • Analyze flight data and support fast iteration of system improvements
  • Ensure all flight operations are safe, robust, and support rapid learning loops
Your profile
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar technical field — but practical field experience weighs more than formal degrees
  • Hands-on UAV flight operations experience (manual and autonomous; swarm experience is a plus but not required)
  • Solid experience with ground control systems (e.g., Q Ground Control or similar)
  • Deep understanding of mission planning and CONOPS development
  • Practical experience with emergency procedures and incident handling
  • Regulatory knowledge: EASA SORA and risk assessment processes
  • Experience leading field deployments and working directly with end-users (military or industrial environments preferred)
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, and adapt fast
  • Proven track record in flight test campaigns, including incidents and learnings ("zero crash" profiles are not relevant)
  • Experience in startup or fast-paced, pragmatic environments preferred
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills (English required)
