Ballistic Engineer (m/w/d) – Kinetic Defense Systems & UAV Countermeasures

Your mission

Design and develop kinetic counter-UAV systems, including projectiles, smart munitions, and high-precision ballistic interceptors
Optimize trajectory modeling, aerodynamics, and impact dynamics for UAV defense applications
Conduct simulations and live-fire testing to validate ballistic performance and accuracy
Work on guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems for smart projectile tracking and engagement
Collaborate with material engineers to develop lightweight, high-strength ballistic solutions
Integrate ballistic countermeasures with radar, EO/IR, RF, and AI-based targeting systems
Ensure compliance with military and aerospace standards (MIL-STD, NATO, ITAR, STANAG)
Research and implement next-generation kinetic interceptors, including hypersonic and energy-assisted projectiles

Your profile

5+ years experience in ballistics, aerodynamics, or kinetic defense systems
Strong expertise in trajectory optimization, impact mechanics, and high-speed projectile design
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C++, or ANSYS for ballistic simulations and CFD modeling
Experience with gun-launched munitions, missile defense, or autonomous interceptors
Knowledge of advanced warhead design, blast effects, and penetration mechanics
Familiarity with defense-grade manufacturing, explosive materials, and smart munitions integration

Nice to have

Experience with hard-kill UAV countermeasures and C-RAM (Counter Rocket, Artillery, Mortar) systems
Background in AI-guided ballistic targeting and fire control systems
Knowledge of hypervelocity impact analysis and electromagnetic launch systems
