Government Affairs & Regulatory Manager – Export Compliance & UAV Certification (m/w/d) all levels

Your mission

Ensure compliance with export control regulations (ITAR, EAR, EU Dual-Use, BAFA, Wassenaar Agreement)
Manage certifications and regulatory approvals (FAA, EASA, CE, MIL-STD, FCC) for UAV systems
Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, defense organizations, and regulators
Oversee licensing, permits, and legal documentation for UAV exports and defense contracts
Monitor changing regulatory landscapes and adapt company policies accordingly
Collaborate with engineering and legal teams to integrate compliance into product development
Conduct internal audits and risk assessments for regulatory adherence

Your profile

3+ years experience in government affairs, regulatory compliance, or export control
Strong knowledge of ITAR, EAR, EU Dual-Use, BAFA, and other defense trade regulations
Experience with FAA/EASA drone regulations and aerospace certification processes
Familiarity with defense contracting, procurement policies, and military standards (MIL-STD, NATO STANAGs)
Ability to manage stakeholder relationships with government agencies and regulatory bodies
Understanding of supply chain compliance and restricted component management

Nice to have

Experience in defense, aerospace, or UAV regulatory affairs
Background in risk assessment for international trade and sanctions compliance
Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance standards for defense systems (NIST 800-171, CMMC)
